Korean cars have increased in price 2.5 times since 2022 in the Russian Federation

The average price of a new Korean car in Russia in February 2025 reached 5.1 million rubles, which is 2.5 times more than in February 2022 (2 million rubles). The National Agency for Industrial Information (NAPI) announced this on March 7 in its Telegram channel.

By February 2023, the price of new Korean cars increased by 82% over the year (to 3.7 million rubles). A year later, they rose in price by 13.6% to 4.2 million rubles.

According to analysts, such a sharp jump is explained not only by rising prices, but also by a change in the model structure of cars supplied to Russia. The fact is that it is almost impossible to import budget cars taking into account the current restrictions, experts said.

The average price for a used Korean car in February 2025 was 1.6 million rubles, which is 45% more than in February 2022 (1.1 million rubles). At the same time, compared to February last year (1.7 million rubles), the average price of a Korean used car decreased by 8.3%.

On February 19, Rex Motors, a distributor of cars of the South Korean brand KGM (formerly SsangYong), announced the March launch of sales in Russia of three crossovers. The compact Tivoli will cost from 3.59 million rubles, the Korando from 4.39 million rubles, and the Torres from 5.15 million rubles. In autumn, the Rexton frame SUV will enter the market, which will cost from 6.79 million rubles.
