The car expert warned about the dangers of downtime for the car

If the car has been stationary for more than a month, this can lead to a number of technical problems. This was announced by Pavel Konstantinov, Director of the Lux AG Avilon Mechanical Repair Department, on March 10.
So, the car's battery gradually loses its charge due to the operation of the alarm system, on-board systems and natural self-discharge, and subsequently it will need to be replaced or "lit up". The tires deform when idle, which can lead to uneven wear and even damage to the tires, the expert explained in an interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta.
With prolonged downtime, oil, brake fluid and other technical fluids lose their properties over time, which can lead to corrosion of engine parts, brake system and other components, said Konstantinov. Condensation and contamination may accumulate in the gas tank, which negatively affects fuel quality, and injectors may become clogged in vehicles with an injection system.
Finally, rubber parts (hoses, oil seals and O-rings) lose their elasticity and may start to crack, brake pads may sour in place, and rust may appear on the body and suspension parts, he added.
On February 29, auto expert Nikita Rodionov said that after the winter period it is important to check all technical fluids, since it is recommended to change engine oil more often in Russian operating conditions than indicated in the manual under standard conditions. With a winter mileage of over 7-8 thousand km, it needs to be replaced.
