The sabotage of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline is an attack on European infrastructure. This was announced on March 7 by Slovak Defense Minister Robert Kalinak in an interview with EReport, which was published on the YouTube channel.

"Think about how quiet the attack on Nord Stream 2 was, which is actually a direct attack on European infrastructure. And this is unacceptable," Kalinak said.

According to him, in the countries of the European Union (EU) there is disregard for the requirements of small countries such as Slovakia in connection with the situation in Ukraine.

"Because everyone tolerates, and she (Ukraine. — Ed.) can do anything and any way, any actions that we do not consider friendly," the Defense Minister believes.

Earlier, on March 3, the official representative of the European Commission (EC), Anna-Kaisa Itkonen, said that the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project was not a point of interest for EU states. According to her, it does not allow to diversify the energy sources of the association.

Leaks on the Nord Stream and Nord Stream–2 gas pipelines were discovered in September 2022. Two powerful underwater explosions were registered on the pipelines. Traces of explosives were found at the accident site. Russia is seeking an international investigation into the attacks. In February 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson that the CIA was responsible for the bombings.
