A tanker and a cargo ship collided off the northeast coast of England, Reuters reported on March 10, citing the British Maritime and Coast Guard Agency.

According to the agency, a helicopter, an airplane, rescue boats and nearby vessels equipped with fire extinguishing equipment were sent to the scene.

The article states that the International Maritime Organization (IMO), a specialized agency of the United Nations, reported that it is aware of the situation and continues to check it.

It is specified that the response operation is currently underway.

Earlier, on March 8, the IHA news agency reported a collision in the Marmara Sea off the coast of Istanbul between two large ships — a tanker and a container ship. It was clarified that there were no casualties after the accident.
