- Anapa City Hall filed a lawsuit for 211 million rubles against the owners of Volgoneft tankers

Anapa City Hall has filed a lawsuit with the Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory against Volgatransneft and Kama Shipping, which own the tankers Volgoneft-239 and Volgoneft-212. This was reported on March 10 in the Telegram channel of the city hall.
As stated in the message, the city administration demands to recover 211 million rubles from the defendants. These funds have already been paid by the municipality as part of contracts to carry out work to eliminate the consequences of the oil spill.
"This amount is not final, and the administration intends to increase the claims in the future," the mayor's office added.
Tankers Volgoneft-212 and Volgoneft-239 crashed in the Kerch Strait on December 15, 2024 due to bad weather. The incident resulted in a spill of petroleum products. 27 people were evacuated from both ships, one person died. On behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin, a working group was set up to coordinate work to eliminate the consequences of the emergency.
On January 2, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation announced that 2.4 thousand tons of petroleum products had entered the Black Sea after the tanker crash. Later, on January 3, an oil slick was found in Sevastopol at the entrance to Balaklava Bay. The next day, the fuel oil moved north along the Crimean coast, and a regional emergency regime was declared in Sevastopol.
