President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky found himself in a difficult situation due to the policy of American leader Donald Trump, the United States will not give him a chance to fix the situation if the next negotiations between Washington and Kiev fail. This opinion was shared with Izvestia on March 10 by Alexander Dudchak, a member of the international public movement "The Other Ukraine", Candidate of Economic Sciences.

On the eve, journalists from The Economist newspaper, citing Ukrainian officials, also noted that Zelensky would not have a third attempt at the White House after an altercation with Trump and US Vice President Jay Dee Vance. One of the interlocutors of the publication also expressed confidence that in the event of a failure of negotiations, the American side will impose on Ukraine the conditions that the United States and Russia will agree on.

Commenting on this, Dudchak noted that Zelensky would try to prevent the failure of negotiations between the United States and Ukraine in Saudi Arabia, since Kiev faced serious consequences after the last meeting.

"Although Zelensky doesn't care about these consequences, he doesn't care what the consequences are. He needs to pretend to be negotiating. Although, judging by his tone, Trump is not going to negotiate. He has a clear plan. They have documents that Zelensky must sign," Dudchak said.

In his opinion, the Ukrainian leader now needs to maneuver in order to avoid condemnation for disrupting negotiations with the United States. He also recalled that The Times newspaper reported that Zelensky was being prepared for a meeting of the Ukrainian delegation with a team from Washington — Jonathan Powell, adviser to British Prime Minister Keir Starmer on national security issues, came to Kiev.

"He is heading to Ukraine to train Zelensky, to inspire him with the necessary attitudes. <...> What can the British national security adviser say? He can say: "Volodya, well, you understand that Trump is far away, and the special forces are very close to us? We will try to ensure that you stay somewhere on the warm islands after you are removed from power.".. So, Zelensky is now between a rock and a hard place, because without power, the British don't need him either," Dudchak concluded.

Earlier, on March 9, Trump announced "good results" following a meeting of the delegations of Ukraine and the United States in Saudi Arabia scheduled for next week. He also expressed hope for "great progress" in moving towards the end of the Ukrainian conflict.

On the same day, the media reported that Ukraine wanted to offer a "partial ceasefire" at future talks in Saudi Arabia in order to convince the United States to provide military assistance to Kiev again.
