The weather forecaster predicted up to 15 degrees Celsius in Moscow on March 11.

On the afternoon of March 11, temperatures are forecast to reach +15 degrees in the Moscow region. At the same time, clouds and light rain are expected by the end of the week. Roman Vilfand, scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told Izvestia about this on March 10.
He attributed the record temperatures at the end of last week to the lack of snow cover. According to him, snow usually lies in the Moscow region at this time, and the sun's rays are reflected from it — 70% of them go back into the atmosphere.
In the afternoon hours of March 10, temperatures are forecast from +11 to +13 degrees. According to him, starting from March 11, the circulation mechanism will change slightly. Thus, the anticyclone, which brought clear weather to the region, will begin to move away to the southeast. The night of March 11 will be without precipitation, but clouds will appear. The predicted temperature is from +3 to +5 degrees. He noted that approximately such values are expected throughout the working week at night.
"An unprecedented high temperature is forecast during the day. <...> The record value is predicted tomorrow – the temperature is +13...+15. It's even up to +16 degrees in the region," Vilfand said.
The expected values will exceed the temperature norm by 10-12 degrees, he noted. The corresponding temperature is typical for the second half of April. Such changes are determined by the convergence of air flows — south-west and south-east.
"But it will be cloudy, and especially in the afternoon, even a little rain is forecast," he commented on the weather on March 11, adding that a pressure drop of 6-8 mmHg is also expected on this day.
This process will continue until the end of the week — on Friday, March 14, the pressure will be about 730 mmHg, the expert emphasized.
"The weather is not just cloudy, but also rainy. <...> Moderate rain on Friday, but in general, from Tuesday to Friday inclusive, it is predicted that at least 10 mm of precipitation will fall," Vilfand said.
The forecaster stressed that by the weekend the cyclone is likely to move east, and temperatures will drop significantly, but it will still be 3-4 degrees above normal.
On March 8, Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Phobos Weather Center, said that the record warm weather in the history of meteorological observations in the city was recorded in Moscow that day. At 14:00, the air in the capital, according to the base weather station of the VDNKH megacity, warmed up to +10.1 degrees, which is 1.5 degrees higher than the previous daily record of that day.
