Russia ranks third in the ranking of the largest arms exporting countries. This was reported on March 10 by the Financial Times newspaper, citing data from the Stockholm Peace Research Institute.

"The data showed that the 10 largest arms exporters over the past five years have remained the same as in the previous period," the article says.

According to the study, two thirds of Russian arms exports went to India, China and Kazakhstan.

It is also noted that the European continent is deeply dependent on US-made weapons. Thus, almost two thirds of the weapons imported by NATO member countries in Europe over the past five years were produced in the United States.

The study showed that between 2020 and 2024, European arms imports more than doubled compared to the previous five years. It is emphasized that during the same period, Ukraine's arms imports increased almost 100 times, as a result of which the state became the largest importer of weapons.

On February 12, Bekhan Ozdoev, Industrial Director of the Rostec cluster of armaments, ammunition and special chemicals, shared that the great interest of foreign customers in Russian weapons is related to its combat testing.

He stressed that Russia's arms exports have reached record levels in recent years, despite Western sanctions. In his opinion, the adaptability of Rostec products has become one of the key criteria for evaluating weapons on the export market in recent years.
