New special economic zones (SEZs) are planned to be created in the Vologda, Moscow and Novosibirsk regions. This was announced on March 10 by the press service of the Government of the Russian Federation in the Telegram channel.

This decree was signed by the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Mikhail Mishustin.

"In Russia, work continues on the formation of territories with special business conditions, where investors can implement projects important for the development of the economy on preferential terms," the report says.

According to the document, the regional authorities will create engineering, transport, social and other infrastructure of the SEZ at the expense of the regional budget by 2027. In total, it is planned to allocate more than 1.5 billion rubles for these purposes.

It is noted that special economic zones are being created for the development of the manufacturing industry, high-tech sectors of the economy, as well as tourism and logistics infrastructure.

Earlier, on March 5, the Ministry of Economic Development told Izvestia that SEZ participants were showing significantly higher economic results compared to non-resident companies. It was noted that by the end of 2024, 1,060 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) were registered in the SEZ, which is 87% of the total number of residents. In 2023, their combined income exceeded 223 billion rubles. In terms of one enterprise, the average income of a SEZ participant amounted to more than 210 million rubles, which is 10 times higher than the same indicator for non-residents.
