A member of the US Congress, Brian Fitzpatrick, said that lawmakers would soon hear a full briefing on the topic of disconnecting Ukraine from American intelligence data. He stated this on March 9 on the CBS television channel.

"I'll say this, we'll get a briefing — a full briefing on this next week," he said.

Fitzpatrick also suggested that the data that Kiev was deprived of could be used for strikes on Russian territory.

"We have a continuous intelligence exchange with the UK. There are no restrictions on the UK sharing this intelligence with Ukraine. So I suspect that this is a de—escalation tactic on the part of the administration [of US President Donald Trump] to bring these parties to the negotiating table," the congressman said.

On March 8, The Time newspaper reported that Western specialists who were processing satellite data for Kiev had left Ukraine. It is noted that some European intelligence agencies have rushed to help fill the gap, but it will take time to deploy their systems. The publication clarifies that "it is unlikely that they will be able to compensate for the capabilities of American intelligence in the near future."
