FT has learned about Ukraine's plans to negotiate a "partial ceasefire" with Russia

Ukraine wants to offer a "partial ceasefire" at future talks in Saudi Arabia to convince the United States to provide military assistance to Kiev again. This was reported on March 9 by the Financial Times (FT) newspaper.
"Kiev intends to offer Russia a partial ceasefire for strikes using long—range drones and missiles, as well as combat operations in the Black Sea, in the hope that progress in negotiations will force Washington to reverse its decision to freeze intelligence sharing and arms supplies," the newspaper reported, citing officials.
The sources of the publication also reported that "in the short term" Kiev hopes to establish relations with the United States. It can also be regarded as a favor in exchange for restoring the transfer of military aid and intelligence to Ukraine.
"US Secretary of State Marco Rubio will be in the Saudi city of Jeddah from Monday to Wednesday for talks, during which he will contribute to achieving the president's goal of ending the Russian-Ukrainian conflict," Secretary Rubio told FT.
On the same day, the WP newspaper learned about the attempts of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, to establish relations with the United States. The Ukrainian president is struggling to restore ties with Washington as the White House increases pressure to end the conflict with Russia as soon as possible.
