An anti-war rally in Madrid gathered more than 100 people protesting against support for Ukraine and the continuation of the conflict. Mikhail Blokhin, Izvestia's correspondent in Spain, attended the March 9 demonstration.

"Peace and neutrality! This is not our conflict!" the protesters chant.

Protester Lorenzo Casado told Izvestia that the protesters stand for peace, sanity and the preservation of the country's budget.

"I think people are stunned. We don't have a clear idea of where this is going to take us. What I know for sure is that, speaking for myself, I see myself getting poorer. The more I work, the more I lose, you know?

According to him, people are getting poorer, housing is becoming more expensive and people are becoming disillusioned.

"One of the slogans of the globalists is to promote subsidies instead of private initiative. And they succeed. Because for many years they have been giving people money to uproot olive trees and figs. And people don't do that. If it's from a European cooperative, take it. And people flaunt subsidies," Casado said.
