The Boeing 777-300ER aircraft of the Indian airline Air India was forced to return to O'Hare airfield after almost 10 hours of flight due to clogged toilets on board. This was announced on Sunday, March 9, by the One Mile at a Time (OMaaT) portal.

"According to passengers, this was due to the fact that the toilets on board were clogged, and by the time the plane flew over Greenland, only one of the 12 toilets on the plane was working," the publication says.

It is noted that the airline itself cited "technical problems" as the reason for the change in course.

The Chicago–Delhi plane took off from the airport as scheduled on March 5 and began a 14-hour journey to India. Four hours after departure, the aircraft turned around and headed back to O'Hare.

It is specified that there were about 300 passengers on board.

Earlier, on March 3, it was reported that a Qantas Boeing 737 aircraft was forced to return to Sydney Airport after smoke was detected in the cockpit. It is specified that Qantas will conduct an investigation to determine the causes of smoke on the flight.
