Kusturica positively assessed the last film festival "Spirit of Fire"

Serbian director Emir Kusturica spoke about his vision of the future of the Spirit of Fire Film Festival, which ended on March 9 in Khanty-Mansiysk. He also expressed great hopes for the films that will be shown on it.

"More movies, good movies. People will remember each festival by what films were there. If there were good films, then the festival is good. I think there is already a model of the "Spirit of Fire" that will be more familiar in the world," said Kusturica.

The director also noted the difficulty of choosing a winner who would be awarded the Golden Taiga Festival prize. As a result, the award was awarded to the film "Summer is Coming" directed by Kirill Sultanov.

"Now the most important question is like Shakespeare's to be or not to be, but now it's to kill or not to kill," he said.

On February 25, the Spirit of Fire Film Debut Festival announced its planned program. At the press conference, the participants of the international and Russian competition programs, the full jury of the main and Russian competitions, as well as the business and entertainment programs of the festival were announced. A total of 84 applications from 34 countries were submitted for participation in the international competition, 411 applications from 17 countries for the short film competition, and 41 applications for the Russian debut competition.
