- The Australian Prime Minister announced the possibility of sending "peacekeepers" to Ukraine.

Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said that the country would consider sending a "peacekeeping mission" to Ukraine. He stated this on March 9 during an official press conference.
"I have said very clearly, publicly and repeatedly that we will consider participating in any peacekeeping operation in Ukraine," The Sydney Morning Herald newspaper quoted the head of parliament as saying.
At the same time, Albaniz noted that there are no plans to send any contingent in the near future.
"Naturally, it is very early to talk about this: it is impossible to deploy peacekeeping forces where there is still no peace," the prime minister added.
He also said that an Australian representative would be present at the meeting of the chiefs of General staffs of countries ready to deploy peacekeepers in Ukraine scheduled for March 11.
On March 6, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov compared the deployment of EU peacekeepers in Ukraine to the presence of NATO. According to the minister, in any case, it will be the troops of the countries of the North Atlantic Alliance, regardless of which flags and chevrons cover this operation.
