A criminal case has been opened after the Ukrainian Armed Forces hit a market in the Kherson region.

The Main Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia has opened a criminal case after the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) on the market in Velikiye Kopany, Kherson region. This was announced on March 9 by the official representative of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation Svetlana Petrenko.

"During the preliminary investigation, all representatives of the armed formations of Ukraine involved in this crime will be identified and brought to justice in accordance with the law," Petrenko said, quoted on the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

She recalled that as a result of the strike on the market in the Kherson region, there are dead and injured.

On the night of February 26, 128 Ukrainian UAVs were launched across the regions of Russia.

The Ukrainian Armed Forces attacked Velikiye Kopani earlier in the day. The governor of the region, Vladimir Saldo, said that Ukrainian militants had attacked the market with two HIMARS multiple rocket launcher missiles.

The press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in the Kherson region told Izvestia that a man died as a result of the attack. In addition, six victims were hospitalized with mine-explosive and fragmentation injuries.
