The joint naval exercises "Maritime Security Belt - 2025" of Russia, China and India have started in the Indian Ocean. This was announced on March 9 by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

The Russian side was represented by the corvettes "Sharp" and "Hero of the Russian Federation Aldar Tsydenzhapov", as well as the medium sea tanker "Pechenga" of the Pacific Fleet.

"For several days in the northern part of the Indian Ocean, the crews will work out the tasks of freeing captured vessels, searching and rescuing at sea, as well as conducting artillery firing at sea and air targets," the department's Telegram channel clarifies.

As indicated, the international naval exercise "Maritime Security Belt 2025" is being held for the seventh time.

In early February, the opening of the Komodo-2025 multilateral naval exercise with the participation of ships of the Russian Navy took place in the city of Denpasar on the island of Bali in the Republic of Indonesia. The Russian delegation was headed by Admiral Vladimir Vorobyov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Navy. The final stage of the Komodo 2025 exercise took place in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of Indonesia at the end of February.
