Trump confirms expectation of rare earth metals deal with Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said on March 9 that after a conflict with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky, the White House is still waiting for the signing of a rare earth metals deal with Ukraine.
"Yes, I think so," the head of the White House said in an interview with Fox News, answering a question about whether he was waiting for Zelensky to return and sign the deal.
Congressman Brian Fitzpatrick said on March 3 that the United States and Ukraine would soon sign an agreement on minerals, which was disrupted by the altercation between Trump and Zelensky. The politician pointed out that this agreement, once concluded, would be the path to a strong and lasting economic partnership between Washington and Kiev.
Zelensky said on March 2 at the summit on European security and the conflict in Ukraine that he was still ready to sign a resource deal with the United States and hoped to save his relations with Washington.
