- The media ruled out the resumption of US aid to Kiev in case of signing a deal on resources

Signing a rare earth metals deal may not be enough to resume military supplies and intelligence sharing between the United States and Ukraine. This was reported on March 9 by NBC News, citing American officials.
According to the TV channel, US President Donald Trump expects changes in the approach of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky to peace talks, including willingness to make concessions. According to officials, the head of the White House also hopes that Zelensky will take steps to hold elections in Ukraine and possibly consider resigning as president.
"As President Trump demonstrated by reading out President Zelensky's message at a joint meeting, Ukrainians have made positive progress. During the meetings in Saudi Arabia this week, we look forward to more, which we hope will eventually put an end to this brutal <conflict> and bloodshed," said White House National Security Council spokesman Brian Hughes when asked about Trump's demands.
The Reuters news agency reported on March 4 that the White House officially confirmed the suspension of US military assistance to Ukraine.
Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, in turn, noted that Washington could resume arms supplies to Kiev if an agreement on rare earths was signed. He expressed the opinion that, against the background of its decision, the American administration wants to see how Ukraine will behave.
