President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin called the meeting with the mothers and widows of the participants of the special military operation very touching.

"It was very touching. I could barely restrain myself," Putin said. The video was posted on March 9 on the Telegram channel of journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Pointing to his eyes, the president said that "he is not allowed," hinting that he should not cry.

The new president of Abkhazia told Putin about the participation of residents of the republic in the SVR and thanked Russia for its support.

At a meeting with employees and wards of the Defenders of the Fatherland Foundation on March 6, Putin proposed naming streets, schools and institutes in honor of the heroes of the Patriotic War. He added that there should be different ways to perpetuate memory. The President also proposed to introduce a common standard of support in the country for the families of participants in the special operation to protect Donbass. According to Putin, the regions will be able to add their own measures.

At the same meeting, the President noted the need for prompt assistance to the relatives of the dead and injured participants of the SVR from the very first days. He noted that these measures are extremely important.
