Scientists have noticed that since the night of March 9th, there has been a noticeable deterioration in the geomagnetic situation. This was reported on the website of the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the IKI and the ISSF.

The reason for this is the coronal hole in the Sun. There are currently three holes on the star, which are at the stage of destruction, but retain the possibility of influencing the Earth.

"At the moment, the Earth is affected by the smaller of the three holes, so the impact is expected to be short—term," the report says.

According to scientists, the level of fluctuations in the geomagnetic field exceeded the threshold of magnetic storms twice: from 6:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Moscow time and after 12:00 p.m. The researchers added that the latest of the storms continues.

The situation is expected to stabilize tomorrow in the middle of the day.

Earlier, on February 14, two powerful flares of the penultimate power class were recorded on the Sun. Flares are accompanied by solar plasma emissions, reaching the Earth they can provoke magnetic storms, the Institute of Applied Geophysics (FSBI "IPG") reported.
