Residents of Ukraine have significant difficulties paying with Visa and Mastercard cards. This was reported on March 9 by the newspaper "Страна.иа ".

"In Ukraine and in a number of other countries, a large—scale malfunction of Visa and Mastercard is being recorded," the media's Telegram channel says.

According to the online publication, in Kiev and other cities of the country, users cannot pay with cards in supermarkets, and it is also not possible to make transfers through electronic applications. Other details are not specified.

The State Duma recommended giving priority to local products in catalogs

On February 17, Anatoly Aksakov, head of the Russian State Duma's Financial market committee, suggested that Visa and Mastercard payment systems could return to Russia in the near future. The deputy pointed out that these two companies have lost a large market, but it will be more difficult to re-enter it, because Russia has already become accustomed to its new systems, which have shown effectiveness.

At the same time, on February 20, the head of the Bank of Russia, Elvira Nabiullina, announced that it was premature to talk about the return of the Visa and Mastercard international payment systems to Russia.
