A special military operation to protect the civilian population of Donbass has been conducted by Russia since February 24, 2022. You can track the progress of the joint forces of Russia, the Donetsk and Lugansk People's Republics (DPR and LPR), as well as view the map of military operations on March 9 in the Izvestia material.

According to the Ministry of Defense, units of the Vostok group of forces liberated the town of Constantinople in the DPR. In their area of responsibility, the enemy lost more than 145 soldiers, an armored combat vehicle, a car and three field artillery pieces, including a Polish-made Krab self-propelled artillery system.

In addition, the Russian army defeated gas processing facilities that support the work of enterprises in the military-industrial sector of Ukraine, the infrastructure of military airfields, production workshops and control points for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), as well as concentrations of manpower and equipment of armed formations of Ukrainian troops and foreign mercenaries in 143 districts.

Air defense systems also shot down a JDAM guided aerial bomb and two HIMARS multiple launch rocket system (MLRS) projectiles, as well as 228 aircraft-type drones, including 99 outside the area of the special military operation.

Since the beginning of the special military operation, 656 aircraft, 283 helicopters, 45,877 UAVs, 600 anti-aircraft missile systems, 22,090 tanks and other armored combat vehicles, 1,525 MLRS combat vehicles, 22,390 field artillery and mortars, and 32,630 units of special military vehicles have been destroyed.
