France plans to provide €195 million worth of military aid to Ukraine in 2025 from frozen Russian assets. This was announced on March 9 in an interview with the newspaper La Tribune Dimanche by French Defense Minister Sebastian Lecorny.

It clarifies that funds from the frozen assets of the Russian Federation will allow the supply of 155-mm shells and AASM gliding bombs, which are used on Ukrainian Mirage-2000 fighters, as well as accelerate the transfer of old military equipment, including AMX-10RC tanks and VAB armored personnel carriers.

In an interview, Lecorn also stressed the need to accelerate the pace of production in the arms industry. Thus, the minister cited as an example the goal of the aerospace company Dassault Aviation, which by 2026 should increase the production of Rafale fighters to 4-5 units per month (from two in 2024).

A protest rally was held in France yesterday against French President Emmanuel Macron's plans to send troops and weapons to Ukraine. It was noted that the demonstration was organized by the Patriots party. Representatives of this political force regularly oppose the decisions of the head of state, including on the Ukrainian issue.
