The State Duma told about the big weekends in May and June

From May 8 to May 11 and from June 12 to June 15, Russians will have a big weekend due to the postponement of non-working days from February 23 and March 8. This was announced on Sunday, March 9, by Yaroslav Nilov, head of the State Duma Committee on Labor and a deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party.
"Due to the holidays in March and February, we get long weekends in May and June <...> Due to February 23, there will be an additional day off on May 8, so we will rest on May 8, 9, 10 and 11. And because of March 8, we will have an additional day off on June 13, after June 12 — Russia Day. We will rest for four days — on June 12, 13, 14 and 15," RIA Novosti quotes the parliamentarian.
According to the MP, postponing weekends is the government's right, which is carried out annually.
Earlier, on March 3, the State Duma called for the introduction of weekends in honor of Easter and Trinity. MP Dmitry Gusev pointed out that Orthodoxy in the Russian Federation is much more important than just religion, and Christmas, for example, is already a day off at the federal level. In addition, other religious holidays are celebrated in a number of regions, such as Eid al-Adha and Eid al-Adha, which are also declared days off.
