Israel will send a delegation to Qatar on Monday in an attempt to step up negotiations on a cease-fire in the Gaza Strip. This was announced on Saturday, March 8, by the office of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

"Israel, with the support of the United States, accepted the invitation of the mediators and will send a delegation to Doha [on March 10] to advance the negotiation process [on the Gaza Strip]," the office said on the social network X.

Also at the meeting, the Israeli delegation will raise the issue of the release of hostages held by Palestinian radicals.

Earlier, on March 2, the Palestinian radical movement Hamas expressed disagreement over the extension of the first stage of the agreement with Israel on the cessation of hostilities in the Gaza Strip. In addition, the representative of the movement clarified that the hostages will be released only if all the original terms of the agreement are fulfilled as stipulated in the contract.
