- Poland joked about Orban's plans to hold a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the EU

Polish Foreign Minister Radoslaw Sikorski joked about Hungary's plans to hold a referendum on Ukraine's accession to the European Union (EU). He made a corresponding post on March 8 on the social network X (Ex. Twitter).
"Hungary plans to hold a referendum on Ukraine's future membership in the European Union. And I would be interested to see the results of the EU referendum on Hungary's membership [under the leadership of Prime Minister Viktor] Orban," he said.
A day earlier, Orban announced plans to hold a referendum on Ukraine's admission to the European Union, which caused a mixed reaction.
Also on March 8, Orban announced that Hungary's economy had lost €20 billion since the beginning of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, this was the main factor in Budapest's failure to sign an agreement with 26 EU countries, which "actually talks about the need to send more weapons and money to Ukraine."
