Turkish President Recep Erdogan drew attention to the problem of increased cases of stray dog attacks in the country and called on the administration to work together on it. He made the corresponding statement on Saturday, March 8, during a speech dedicated to International Women's Day, which was posted on the YouTube channel of the Justice and Development Party (AKP).

"To solve this growing problem, all local administrations, regardless of whether it is the opposition or the government, must work in cooperation," the head of state said.

He prayed for a two-year-old girl who died the day before as a result of a dog attack in the city of Konya.

Earlier, on February 25, Chairman of the State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin called on the relevant committee to prepare standards for the protection of children from stray dogs. He also urged Russians not to throw animals out on the street.
