The United States called for a softening of the wording on sanctions against Russia

Representatives of the United States during the negotiations of the G7 countries called for a softening of the wording describing the sanctions restrictions on Russia. This was reported by Bloomberg on March 8.
"During the negotiations on the formulation of a joint statement on maritime issues, the United States insists on strengthening the wording regarding China and softening the wording regarding Russia. <...> The United States insisted on removing the word "sanctions", as well as the wording referring to Russia's ability to wage conflict in Ukraine, replacing it with "revenue generation," — The agency reports with reference to the draft statement.
On March 7, the State Duma assessed the words of US President Donald Trump about the possible strengthening of sanctions against Russia. MP Dmitry Novikov stressed that the US leader definitely cannot be called a politician with a pro—Russian position, and the accusations against him in this case are "pure populism, political technology, struggle."
