In the United States, as a result of a shootout with a 14-year-old teenager, one policeman was killed and another law enforcement officer was injured in the American city of Newark. This was reported on March 8 by the Fox News channel.

"Detective Joseph Azcona was shot dead and an unnamed officer was injured in a shootout on Friday night in Newark, [state] New Jersey," the TV channel reports, citing the prosecutor.

The teenager himself was also injured during the shootout. He was charged with murder, attempted murder and illegal possession of weapons.

On March 3, the same TV channel reported on five victims of shooting at a parade in the United States. The incident occurred near the place where the Mardi Gras parade was taking place. The police believe that the shooting is linked to the activities of criminal gangs.
