A protest rally was held in France on Saturday, March 8, against French President Emmanuel Macron's plans to send troops and weapons to Ukraine.

It is noted that the demonstration, which took place on the Palais Royal square near the Louvre, was organized by the Patriots party. Representatives of this political force regularly oppose the decisions of the head of state, including on the Ukrainian issue.

In particular, its leader Florian Philippot has repeatedly pointed out the wrong course of Macron's policy. For example, on March 5, a former member of the European Parliament said that the country's president was scaring the French with the "Russian threat."

During the March 8 rally, participants chanted slogans against sending military personnel and weapons, campaigned against Ukraine's admission to NATO, and also called for not turning the European Union (EU) into a military bloc.

Similar demonstrations have become more frequent in Europe. On February 21, a picket was held at the US Consulate General in Barcelona against aid to Ukraine. The protesters hung a banner calling on President Donald Trump to stop the deaths of children in Donbas.
