Goals from Gondu and Casserra brought Zenit victory over Fakel in the RPL match

Zenit football club from St. Petersburg beat Fakel Voronezh away in the Russian Premier League match with a score of 2:0. The meeting of the 20th round was held on Saturday, March 8.

The score was opened in the 19th minute by the Argentine forward Luciano Gondu. Colombia's forward Mateo Casserra increased the advantage of the St. Petersburg club in the 57th minute. He came on as a substitute 11 minutes earlier.

During the match, in the 74th minute, an incident occurred in which Brazilian Wendell made an obscene gesture towards the stands, for which he was removed from the field.

"Following the results of the match of the 20th round <...> the delegate's report contains information about the discriminatory behavior of fans of the Voronezh club against Zenit player Wendel," the Telegram channel of the Russian Premier League says.

In turn, Fakel spoke out against any kind of discrimination, stressing that the club is ready to actively assist in the proceedings and provide everything necessary to establish the truth.
