Hungary's economy has lost €20 billion since the start of the Ukrainian conflict

Hungary's economy has lost €20 billion in three years of conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on Saturday, March 8, by Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban.
"€20 billion in three years is a very serious loss for such a large national economy as Hungary," the politician said at the Economic Results 2025 forum, broadcast on the official YouTube channel of the head of government.
According to him, this was the main factor in Budapest's failure to sign an agreement with 26 European Union (EU) countries, which "actually talks about the need to send more weapons and money to Ukraine."
"This is a mistake, let's not take this position," the politician concluded.
He added that it was in Budapest's interests for the conflict to end as soon as possible with a cease-fire and negotiations."Газета.Ru ".
On March 6, Orban said it was very expensive to support Ukraine and its army. The Prime Minister also agreed with US President Donald Trump that EU countries should allocate a larger percentage of GDP to their own defense.
