A child drowned in Khimki near Moscow. This was announced on Saturday, March 8, by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations.
"On the Moscow Canal, two 12-year—old girls fell through the ice," the department's Telegram channel says.
It is noted that eyewitnesses managed to save one child, the girl ran home. Rescuers took out the body of the second one.
On March 1, a child riding a tube down a slide in Barnaul drowned in a river.
