On March 8, Russian tennis player Daniil Medvedev reached the third round of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) Masters tournament in Indian Wells, California.

In the second round match, he defeated the 71st racket of the world from China, Bu Yunchaocate. The match lasted one hour and 37 minutes and ended in two sets with the same score — 6:2.

Medvedev served three straight sets, made five break points out of 14, and also made a double mistake. At the end of the match, he called the court the slowest in his life, on which he managed to play.

In Indian Wells, the Russian started immediately from the second round as one of the top 8 seeded athletes. In the next match, his opponent will be U.S. representative Alex Michelsen.

At the end of February, in the third round match of the ATP tournament in Dubai, Medvedev lost to Tallon Grikspoor, an athlete from the Netherlands, and did not reach the semifinals of the tennis tournament. The Russian's opponent performed without a seeding number, while Medvedev was ranked first.
