Four European countries support Arab reconstruction plan for Gaza

The foreign ministers of France, Germany, Italy and the United Kingdom supported the Arab countries' plan for the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip, which will cost $53 billion and will avoid the displacement of Palestinians from the enclave. This was announced on Saturday, March 8, according to the Reuters news agency.
"The plan shows a realistic path to the reconstruction of Gaza and promises that, if implemented, there will be a rapid and sustained improvement in the catastrophic living conditions of Palestinians living in Gaza," the ministers said in a joint statement.
The plan, developed by Egypt and adopted by Arab leaders earlier this month, was rejected by US President Donald Trump, the agency said.
The participants of the Arab League summit on Palestine on March 4 in their final declaration appealed to the UN Security Council with a request to send peacekeepers to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River. Also, during the emergency summit, the participants unanimously adopted a resolution proposed by Egypt on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
