On March 8, Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto accused the Polish government and the European Union of blocking peace talks on the conflict in Ukraine.

"It is shameful that the Polish government, along with other Brussels residents, is trying to prevent peace talks. And it is precisely this behavior of Brussels that isolates the EU," he wrote on Facebook (owned by the recognized extremist Meta company, its activities are banned in the Russian Federation).

At the same time, the minister clarified that the vast majority of countries, led by the United States, want to achieve a peaceful settlement. Szijjarto also noted that the efforts of the American leader Donald Trump to establish peace "may be crowned with success."

Szijjarto has repeatedly stated that the European side does not seek a settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, but wants it to continue. So, on February 20, on the M1 TV channel, he said that liberal politicians from Europe were pushing Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky to continue military operations. Before that, on February 17, he said that there was a unification of forces in Europe that did not want peace.
