In Australia, more than 30 soldiers were injured in an accident


More than 30 Australian military personnel were injured in a collision of equipment sent to the state of New South Wales to help citizens during tropical cyclone Alfred. This was announced on March 8 by the local division of ABC News TV channel with reference to the regional ambulance service.
"36 people were injured in a collision between two vehicles of the [Australian] Defense Forces in northern New South Wales," the publication said.
The incident occurred in the Lismore area. The victims received injuries of varying severity and were taken to a local hospital.
The Australian Defence Forces confirmed the incident on their website.
According to the latest data from ABC News, at the moment there is already one dead and dozens injured as a result of the disaster.
Reuters reported on March 6 that residents of the east coast of Australia had fortified their homes and stocked up on food in anticipation of Cyclone Alfred. Local authorities have closed airports and schools.
