Snow and strong winds are expected in six regions of Russia on March 8 and 9. This was announced by the scientific director of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia Roman Vilfand.
"A very sharp separation of air masses over the weekend takes place east of the Volga River, in the Volga Federal District. And this leads to the fact that difficult conditions are forecast, heavy snow, blizzard, snow drifts and ice are expected in Bashkortostan on Saturday, heavy snow, blizzard, wind of 14-19 m/s, rolling and icy roads in Udmurtia on Saturday and Sunday," he told TASS on March 8..
The expert also stressed that in Novorossiysk the wind speed will exceed 20 m/s, and in the Altai Republic gusts can reach 25-28 m/s.
In addition, snowfall is expected in the Murmansk and Arkhangelsk regions on March 8, and heavy snow is also forecast in the Perm Region.
The Hydrometeorological Center reported on March 8 that partly cloudy weather, no precipitation and up to +10 degrees are expected for residents of the capital region on this day. Forecasters predicted a westerly wind with a speed of 4-9 m/s. The atmospheric pressure will be 752 mmHg.
