Funeral of Marshal Shaposhnikov


On March 28, at 4:30 p.m., the funeral of Marshal of the Soviet Union Boris Shaposhnikov, the oldest military leader and builder of the USSR Armed Forces, will take place in Moscow on Red Square, the Izvestia newspaper reports. The funeral procession will be led by Stalin and Molotov.
"The army and Navy of the Soviet Union bow their battle flags in front of Shaposhnikov's coffin and salute one of the outstanding commanders of the Red Army," reads the order of the commander—in-chief, which is published by the publication.
There were exactly 42 days left until the Great Victory.
At the hour of the funeral of Marshal Shaposhnikov of the Soviet Union, the deceased will be given the last military honor with a salute of 24 artillery volleys from 124 guns.
