The American Apple corporation will postpone the update of the Siri voice assistant, which implied the introduction of artificial intelligence (AI) technologies, until next year due to the difficulties encountered. This was reported by Bloomberg on Friday, March 8, citing sources.

"Apple said that the features introduced last June, including the ability for Siri to use a user's personal information to respond to queries and gain more precise control over applications, will now be released next year," the publication says.

Apple's vice president of software engineering, Craig Federighi, is concerned that the features are not working properly during testing, the newspaper writes.

It is expected that only the initial basics for this update will be developed by the department by next year, and the finished version of the improved Siri will be released no earlier than 2027.

Prior to that, on February 27, the head of Sberbank, German Gref, said that Apple's withdrawal from the Russian market was an incentive to introduce the technology of "smile payment" by disabling NFC. He added that restrictions on paying for purchases using a phone without a card on Apple devices have led to the development of a domestic biometrics system.
