Jordan and Bryant's T-shirts to be auctioned at Sotheby's in New York for $20 million

The jerseys of basketball players Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant, in which they debuted in the National Basketball Association (NBA), will be auctioned for $20 million on March 21 in New York. This was announced on March 6 by the auction house Sotheby's.
"The historical weight of these two T-shirts cannot be overestimated. <...> Debut games are something that every athlete experiences only once in their career, and this is the moment when the hype surrounding their pre—professional career finally comes to the fore in the major leagues," said Bram Wachter, head of Sotheby's contemporary collectibles department.
It is specified that each T-shirt will bring in $ 10 million and will be sold separately.
Jordan's jersey was worn during his NBA preseason debut on October 5, 1984. Then Jordan's Chicago Bulls team defeated the Indiana Pacers.
Bryant was just 18 years old when he first donned the Lakers' signature purple-and-gold jersey in a victory over the Timberwolves on November 3, 1996.
Earlier, on February 26, journalist Darren Rovell reported that a ticket from the debut match of Russian hockey player Alexander Ovechkin in the National Hockey League (NHL) was sold at auction for $ 10.5 thousand. The ticket was sold with the autograph of the acting captain.
