Two large tanker ships and a container ship collided in the Sea of Marmara off the coast of Istanbul. This was announced on Saturday, March 8, according to the IHA news agency.

The 130-meter-long container ship Orita crashed into the 270-meter-long tanker Mia, which was anchored.

"As a result of the collision, the ballast tank of the tanker burst, polluted water poured into the sea," the publication says.

There were no casualties after the accident. Turkey has sent tugboats to the scene.

Earlier, on February 8, a foreign cargo ship ran aground in the Nevelsky district of the Sakhalin Region. It is specified that there were 20 crew members on board the vessel. As noted by the interlocutor of Izvestia, the cargo ship did not send a distress signal.
