US President Donald Trump is considering the possibility of withdrawing 35,000 American troops from Germany and redeploying them to Eastern Europe. This was reported on March 7 by The Telegraph newspaper, citing sources.

"Trump is considering the possibility of withdrawing about 35,000 active military personnel from Germany, which will further worsen relations between the United States and Europe," the publication says.

According to the newspaper, about 160,000 U.S. military personnel are stationed outside the United States, most of whom are in Germany.

"Trump is angry that [Europe] seems to be pushing for war," the newspaper quoted a source close to the White House as saying.

The publication claims that troops will be sent to Hungary.

Earlier, on March 6, Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban refused to support a statement on assistance to Kiev at the European Union (EU) summit. It was clarified that the European Council would return to discussions at the next meeting.
