Trump declared faith in Putin's desire for peace in Ukraine

US President Donald Trump said he believes in his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin's desire to achieve a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine, while dialogue with Kiev is more difficult. He made the corresponding statement on Thursday, March 7, answering questions from reporters in the Oval Office.
"I believe him [Putin]. I think we are doing well with Russia. <...> To be honest, it is becoming more and more difficult to deal with Ukraine. And they don't have maps," Trump said, the broadcast was posted on the Fox News YouTube channel.
The Head of State noted that it is easier to have a dialogue with Russia. At the same time, Trump said that both sides want to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.
Earlier in the day, it was reported that President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky would not take part in a meeting with the American delegation in Saudi Arabia on March 11. Fox News journalist Jackie Heinrick, in turn, said that his participation was not originally intended.
