In Transbaikalia, they will reduce the number of alcoholics


The authorities of the Trans-Baikal Territory will create an interdepartmental commission to reduce alcoholism in the population. It will include all departments and organizations that will work in this area, the press service of the regional government reports.
The meeting of the working group was held on Friday, March 7. The meeting participants decided to develop an action plan aimed, in particular, at promoting sobriety. It, as well as the creation of the commission itself, will be approved by a government decree.
According to the idea of the authorities, it is also planned to hold meetings at which municipalities will report on the implementation of the program. At least three of the best and three of the worst districts will be heard at each meeting.
Deputies of the regional Legislative Assembly will consider legislative initiatives to limit the sale of alcohol in March-April. They will relate to places, times, and days of sale of alcoholic beverages.
As noted by ChitaMedia news agency, starting from March 1 in Transbaikalia, the time for retail sale of alcohol in public catering establishments or so-called "bulk containers" is limited. On weekdays, until 12 a.m., and on weekends — until two.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that in Russia it is proposed to ban the advertising of non-alcoholic beer on TV and radio, equating it to alcohol advertising. The bill will be submitted to the State Duma in the near future.
