Waltz announced his participation in negotiations with Ukraine in Saudi Arabia

US National Security Adviser Mike Waltz has announced that he will take part in talks with Ukraine, which are scheduled to take place in Saudi Arabia next week. He told reporters at the White House on March 7.
"Secretary of State [Marco] Rubio, myself and the Ukrainian delegation will meet in Saudi Arabia next week to get these negotiations back on track, achieve a cease—fire and ensure peace," he said.
The official also noted that the talks would focus on the normalization of relations between Kiev and the United States amid disagreements over the rare earth metals deal.
"Ukrainians had a great opportunity to connect our economies through a deal on minerals. Unfortunately, everything didn't go very smoothly. But we think we can get things back on track," Waltz said.
On that day, the American Fox News channel announced that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky would not participate in negotiations between Ukraine and the United States in Saudi Arabia. On March 4, Zelensky posted on the social network X that his meeting with Trump "did not go as planned." He stressed Ukraine's readiness to conclude a deal on US mineral resources, and also expressed Kiev's intention to "sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible."
