In the Samara region, the number of injured as a result of the collapse of the grandstand in the circus has increased to seven. This was announced on March 7 by the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the region in the Telegram channel.
"There were no fatalities, seven people were injured, including four children <...>, and after a medical examination at a medical facility, they were sent for outpatient treatment," the ministry said in a statement.
It is specified that 14 specialists and five pieces of equipment are working at the scene.
A podium with spectators collapsed in a traveling circus in the Samara city of Neftegorsk earlier that day. According to the Izvestia source, the height of the podium was no more than 3 m, and there were 20 people on it. Later, the Ministry of Health of the region reported that eight people were injured in the collapse of the grandstand.
A criminal case has been opened into the incident under Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Provision of services that do not meet the requirements for the safety of life and health of consumers").
