A site for the construction of a crematorium has been identified in Sevastopol. The facility will be located near the intersection of Simferopol highway and Bogdanov Street. A positive conclusion on the project appeared in the unified state expertise database.

A plot of land with an area of 5.7 thousand square meters was designated for the institution next to the Mekenzievy Gory cemetery. The developer is not specified in the documents, writes IA SevastopolMedia.

The construction of the crematorium is provided for by the General Plan of Sevastopol, adopted in February 2025. According to the authorities, the main reason for this decision is the overcrowding of city cemeteries.
