The Ministry of Justice added ex-KGB officer Zhirnov and blogger Levshits to the register of foreign agents.

The Russian Ministry of Justice has added former KGB officer Sergei Zhirnov, blogger Nikolai Levshits and three other people to the register of foreign agents. This was announced on March 7 on the agency's website.

In addition to Zhirnov and Levshits, the list includes journalist Vasily Gatov, political scientist Inal Hashig and politician Anton Klimov.

"The register of foreign agents includes V.V. Gatov, S.O. Zhirnov, A.M. Klimov, N.D. Levshits, and I.N. Khashig," the report says.

According to the ministry, these individuals opposed the special military operation, distributed materials from foreign agents, fakes about the decisions of the Russian authorities and the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

In addition, in accordance with the orders of the department, LLC "Free People" and the non-profit partnership for promoting the dissemination of encyclopedic knowledge "Wikimedia RU" are excluded from the list.

Earlier, on February 21, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation added journalists Zhanna Agalakova and Ilya Azar, as well as Ukrainian-born television presenter and showman Artyom Lirnik, to the register of foreign agents. The list also includes blogger Rustem Adagamov and publicist Elizaveta Alexandrova-Zorina.
